OVERVIEW
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, an engineering firm that emphasizes economy and environmental stewardship to their clients took a page from their own book and took on what turned out to be the largest carport solar project in Illinois. IM Sustainable’s CEO Ben Roy was subcontracted to manage the installation of 3,978 panels.

CHALLENGE
Install 3,978 panels within the limited space of the commercial property.
SOLUTION
The installation of carports on the parking lot of the property added roof space and accommodated the panels that could not fit on the building’s roof.
OUTCOME
The project took full advantage of the office’s parking lot space and now provides 493,000 kWh of solar power annually, approximately 90% of the electrical needs of the CMT’s 41,000 square foot office building.
